The second tower of the San Javier Hospital has 76 rooms, a hospital pharmacy area with a centre for combinations of oncological medicines, antibiotics and general medicines, as well as for enteral and parenteral nutrition, unique in the country; a Central Equipment and Sterilisation Area (CEYE) with state-of-the-art technology that will provide sterilisation solutions to improve safety processes; eight hemodialysis cubicles and a chemotherapy area also with eight modules, equipped for research protocols; a hybrid operating theatre for neurology, cardiology and trauma surgeries, areas for rehabilitation and a new heliport.
Master Key System
One of the crucial solutions for this project was master keying with the TK6 cylinder. In large facilities, with different users and accesses, it is essential to have a system that allows one key to open several doors but, at the same time, that each of these access work with a unique and individual key. In this way, users can avoid carrying bulky key rings in their pockets, while ensuring that each user can only open the doors for which they are authorised.
Antimicrobial
Another fundamental solution was the antimicrobial finish. TESA ASSA ABLOY has a range of handles and panic bars specially designed for healthcare environments, which have a bactericidal finish with 95% effectiveness against organisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterococcus hirae and Candida albicans.
