TESA ASSA ABLOY launches the Global panic exit device rim series
The rim models, as well as the versions for people with access requirements, complete the Global range, launched in 2021 with the mortise version.
TESA ASSA ABLOY launches its new TCP/IP Proximity Editor, which brings greater convenience and versatility to the hospitality buildings thanks to its new functionalities. The main advantage of i-coder is that it offers the possibility of connection to the LAN network via Ethernet, which means it is possible to communicate with it without having to connect it to a PC via USB (although it also includes USB connectivity), connecting it directly to the network. In addition, Ethernet communications allow a more secure and encrypted exchange of information (DTLS v1.2 / AES 128) between the editor and the TESA Hotel management software. It also offers PoE power through the network cable itself, if the installation’s Ethernet switch includes this.
The new desktop proximity i-coder reads, encodes and erases the information for the RFID credentials of both guests and hotel staff (key cards, key rings, bracelets, etc.) in the TESA Hotel system. With this new editor, the TESA Hotel system allows all operations to be carried out with the web manager, with no need to install any software. With i-coder and from any computer with a network connection or even from the Internet, the reception or hotel management staff can record or read the proximity credentials without needing to have the TESA Hotel software installed on the terminal from which they are operating (PC, laptop, tablet or even a smartphone).
As the editor is directly connected to the LAN network, system maintenance is easier, since TESA Hotel software updates are done on a single server PC. By working through the web manager, it is no longer necessary to do them on all computers where the editor is used. In addition, it brings improvements in design, with straighter and simpler lines, in tune with current market trends.
The desktop i-coder editor also includes the functionality of being able to operate as an RFID credential updater: it automatically reads the events recorded in the proximity cards and allows the access of the masters to be modified or the credential permissions to be overwritten. It is a complement to the reading and writing platform of the TESA Hotel system, together with the Reader Updater and the Updater LITE.
