TESA ASSA ABLOY launches the Global panic exit device rim series
The rim models, as well as the versions for people with access requirements, complete the Global range, launched in 2021 with the mortise version.
Sustainability has an increasing presence throughout the entire TESA ASSA ABLOY production chain and, as a consequence, the company has updated the packaging of its range of high security cylinders with the aim of eliminating plastic. This new, eco-friendly packaging is made up of a cardboard sleeve and a base with a high-quality cellulose lid, all of which are recyclable materials that significantly reduce the environmental impact.
Cellulose is a thermoformable, recycled and recyclable material. It has been chosen by the company to house the cylinder, keys, fixing screw and ownership card in this new packaging. This base is covered by a cardboard sleeve for the graphic content so that the user can see the photo of the product and its main features.
For Jon Ancisar, Head of Market Development for Cylinders, it is a “key project that has had impressive results” and that arose from the company’s commitment to sustainability. “With this new eco-friendly packaging, we significantly reduce the carbon footprint of our cylinders,” explains Ancisar, “updating and modernising their image at the same time.”
It is an important milestone for the company since this new packaging is used for the most representative models of cylinder and therefore those that involve the highest sales. This will allow the company to significantly reduce its carbon footprint. Those models of cylinder not affected by the change in packaging are already delivered in recyclable cardboard boxes.
