TESA ASSA ABLOY equips the new building of a state-of-the-art, open and transparent university for the students.

Xavierian University

It has been designed by Juan Pablo Ortiz Arquitectos + Taller 301, who chose the main Spanish manufacturer and supplier of locking and access control solutions to perform the specification of all the doors of the Xavierian University building on the strength of our team of experienced professionals and the specification tools they have to carry out projects.

Founded in 1623, the Pontifical Xavierian University is one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Colombia, a leading institution in research and engineering programmes that needed a new building that will act as a link between the existing faculty building and the new tower with the laboratories.

With an area of 8,500m2, it has cutting-edge technology for research and teaching and has become the meeting place for members of the faculty and students. From its initial conception, the new building was designed to foster innovation, as it is itself a tool for teaching students. Interior glass walls allow students to see the inner workings of the building and understand its complexity.

The Project

The architects responsible for managing the project chose TESA ASSA ABLOY because of our team of professionals and our tools for specification, as well as for our extensive catalogue and the proven quality of our solutions,

which mean that the architects only have to work with a single supplier for door hardware.

One of the main solutions specified was the mechanical master key with TK6 high-security cylinders, both in European profile doors and in Titanium series security padlocks. This solution allows multiple doors to be opened with one key, and key copies can only be obtained by presenting the ownership card that is provided when the master keying is carried out.

The new building of the Xavierian University has also installed TESA ASSA ABLOY door closers for the controlled closing of the doors, Quick mortise panic bars and Universal panic bars to ensure safe and effective evacuation, 2UB0 and 2030 security locks, fireproof hardware, with CF60 locks and Vector series external operation, and the Traka 21 system for the electronic management of mechanical keys, as well as glass locks for glass doors.
